 SC-ST-OBC Cell


A special cell for the SC and ST OBC category students founded in Nagar College in ---, to look into the exigencies of these students. The cell has been refurbished occasionally to help and coddle the students regarding their variegated needs.  During admissions, the Cell works in close tandem with the Admission Committee to ensure that students belonging to the reserved categories SC/ST/OBC are admitted strictly in accordance with the National and University norms. The SC/ST/OBC Cell of the college is also entrusted with the responsibility to look after the welfare of SC/ST/OBC students and address their problems, academic and otherwise. The Cell takes up the responsibility to equip the students of the SC/ST/OBC category through influential instruction and assists them to traverse the academic path with utmost excellence.

Objectives:

SC/ST Cell has been created in the college to resolve all the affairs and problems related to the SC/ST Students of the college.

Following are the important work under SC/ST Cell:

  • All affairs related to SC/ST students.
  • To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Government, Central Government and UGC.
  • To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.

Activities:

  • To collect reports and information of State Government and UGC’s orders on various aspects of education, employment of SC/ST Students.
  • To circulate State Government and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs.
  • To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
