Administrator
In pursuance of Order No. 725-EH/O/CS/4C-06/2026 dated 22 May 2026, issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, the Governing Body of Nagar College has been terminated. Consequently, an Administrator has been appointed to manage and oversee the affairs of the College until further orders or until a new Governing Body is constituted by the competent authority.
Accordingly, Dr. Arindam Bhattacharjee, Joint Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, has been appointed as the Administrator of Nagar College. As Administrator, he is entrusted with the responsibility of exercising the powers and performing the functions previously vested in the Governing Body, while ensuring the effective governance and smooth functioning of the institution.
Under his administrative leadership, the College continues to pursue its commitment to academic excellence, institutional development, and quality higher education. He oversees academic, administrative, and financial matters of the College and ensures compliance with the policies, regulations, and directives issued by the Government of West Bengal, the Higher Education Department, and the affiliating University.
The College administration, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students remain dedicated to upholding the values and objectives of Nagar College while working towards its continued growth and advancement under the guidance of the Administrator.
